Gollum did it, I knew he was good for something.
im glad that eowyn found faramir, somehow that made the most sence. I wonder if aragorn will find arwen again. everythin has turned out so well, but that is the way of these kinds of books.
if feel sorry for bilbo, even though the ring has been destroyed it still is effecting him. but he will enjoy himself in rivendell, and his stories will be well loved in the shire.
aragorn will be a great king, and a good friend to all the people. Legolas and Gimli will be the best of friends, and will probabley have some of the best adventures.
i sorry that the story is over, i was enjoying reading it. but, there is a series of books leading up to the hobbit. i guess i will have to start reading those.
Well signing off for the last time...
Bye! :)

LOTR: ROTK => after the battle
So, this coldness...is it like the coldness Frodo fell pray to during his ride to Rivendell? I wonder if they have kings foil. But, at least Gondor has a new leader (Aragorn) if he would be less weary.
Aragorn is my favorite character. He is so afraid to accept that which is rightly his. And yet he is a strong leader.
I do hope Eomer gets to see his sister again.
Aragorn has to take control of Gondor, or everything will fall into ruin, however, Gandalf would make a good temorary ruler.
I will be sad when this part of the story is over, I do very much like these characters and friendships that have come in these parts. I just hope that it ends well. It would be awful if Faramir died, and did not make right the wrongs of his father and brother.
Aragorn knows his medicine better than anyone. Thank god Aragorn knows what to do with these wounds, there is hope yet. But I think he might have come to late?
How does Aragorn know so many things? It must be his relationship with the elves. He has saved Faramir's life, and he can now take his place. :)
Eown will not make it there is no way, considering what she fought, nor will pippin's arm ever be the same.
well back to reading.

Return of the king
Ok, so I'm going to go major nerd here for a few minutes so just bear with me.
First of all I haven't seen this movie yet so everything I say is strictly based on what I have read.
Denathor is a total butt. How can he treat his own son like that, and what the heck is he thinking about taking him and his son to their graves. Thank god for gandolf.
I'm really ticked that I'm almost done with book five cause I really don't want to read about Sam and frodo. I don't know why but I really hate Sam. Gollum on the other hand is probably the most interesting character in the whole story.
Well back to reading!!!

End of the book
I guess it was okay. She has a pretty messed up family though, and once again I felt like I was invading their privacy and not in a good way. We talk about in theater how you want the audience to feel like they shouldn't be there (in a good way),this wasn't that. I don't think I will read something like this again. I see reading as a way to escape from the everyday world. This kind of forces you into it. Jeannette is a great writer, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Th Glass Castle
Ok, for some reason I can't seem to convince myself that I like this book. Maybe I just don't like non-fiction.
On the topic of the book, I don't know how i would cope with being ashamed of my parents. I am ashamed of my younger brothers sometimes, but that can't be helped, it's in their contracts to be anoying.
But, I think that I would be sad to know that I am ashamed of who raised me, cause then, aren't I ashamed of myself in a way? But I think that i would miss them a lot. I hated moving once, I would hate to have to do it all the time. She leads a very rough and not easilly forgetable childhood.
I definately don't like the dad.
It is a very wierd story, but I guess the way that i view it is that it is there buisness and i don't want to be a part of it.

The Book Thief: Death Again
So, originally I was going to try to talk about Liesel and Rudy and everything happening on Himmel Street, but Death is just
to intriguing.
Death…
He is not like what people think.
A thought: If mother
is Nature, than father is Death.
Death cares about those he saves, and feels as Nature does
when they are harmed.
Question—What
would the world be like if we thought of Death as a being who is kind and
caring, as one with feelings, as one who has compassion for those he takes from
us, and pity’s us who keep going?
He doesn't want us to be sad that they are gone. He wants to take us with them, so that we to
are safe from harm. But, he knows that
we must finish out our lives, so that when he comes to take us we understand
and see clearly what life was for us and what it must be for those who follow
us.
Observation: Death
did not live a life, he came into being knowing, understanding, why he had to
watch, why he had to do his job. He does
not fully understand the emotion that goes into living, only the emotion of
dying, missing those who have died. But
he learns, as children do, the emotional aspect of life, and how important it
is to our ability to learn.
Death was the best part of this book, the way he looked at
things, the way that he attached himself to something that he had no connection
with. I think I want to read the book
again this summer and see how I feel about it once I have chosen a college, and
I am preparing to leave the comfort and safety of home.
I think that I read the book at a good point in my life,
because I’m a senior, I’m dealing with the fact that this chapter of my journey
is almost over, and I’m going to have to move on into uncharted territory. Death is right, we must live life so that we
learn the lessons that it has to offer, and that is where I am.

The Book Thief: Death
I've read the first hundred or so pages of this book before, and I put it down so that I could finfish it for this class. That was a very hard thing for me to do, because I had become attached to the book. I think one thing that drew me in was the way the book was narrated, from the point of view of Death. I also like the way that he is personified in the book, as a very simplistic yet detail oriented person, with (at times) the emotion and vision of a child. The fact that he focuses on all of these colors to distract him from the people and events they go with seems to me the way that a child might approach such a problem. The way he looks at his job is also very interesting. He doesn't come off as the Grim Reeper or the Devil, he comes of as Death. Almost, like Death from the Tale of the Three Brothers from Harry Potter 7, only not as eager to recive those souls that must be taken from the world. But, as a more solom and respectful being of the souls he takes from the Earth, he does not like his job but he doesn't hate it either. He knows that he is the one who must take care of these people now, and that it is a big responsibility.
Liesel, on the other hand, understands what life...and Death...can do to someone, for her it means not having someone to go with to a new world. It means taking something that will be her only reminder of what this world did to her brother.
Another thing that I found interesting, was that the story is being told with the emotions of one who knows what has to happen next, by one who has seen life been given and taken; but, it is told with a sence of inocence that only a child can have. The blend of styles is very well done, and it make s the characters more interesting to follow. I particularly like Papa, he is very much experienced in many ways when it coomes to the world, but when Liesel comes into his life, an inosence is opened up in him, I think, that was very rarely seen or given to anyone.
Death is an intreging being, and I think that the way he is written is a very interesting way to view Death.
I keep looking over at the book next to the computure as I type and I have to stop, because I want to know what is going to happen to the Jew that is hiding in a black room, and how it is all going to tye together!!!

The End
It's amazing that Rue is able to movie Katniss into an offensive position. I think Katniss really wants to protect her, and not just because she reminds her of Prim.
I wonder how long the careers knew about what the boy from 3 could do. Maybe because of this the gamemakers won't use mines next year.
I can see Katniss and Peeta together. They work well together. And, they are good at reading eachother. Also Katniss cares about him as more than a partner. She fears for his life, she really does love him I think, even though she doesn't know what that feels like, so she expresses it as anger and fear.
Thresh...I will be sorry to see him go.
She really does dwell on the past to much, but these games are throwing her back into the worst memories she has.
Peeta doesn't have a single clue what is going on in these woods. Fox Face has given them the advantage by prooving what the berries are.
She owes Haymtich so much. He has given her hope in the arena, and some one she wants to care for and take care of.
I'm glad that Thresh hasn't shown up in the sky yet.
It wouldn't suprise me if Cato wasn't entirely there anymore. He has lost his food source and hasn't got the slitest idea of how to hunt.
Ok...the mutts in the movies are just oversized dogs, they look nothing like any of the tributes. I pictured like a fox like creaturewith red tengled curls for fur. And Rue's would be smallish and brown with black curly long coccerspaniel ears and other black splotches. That would be a nightmare to see Rue's kind little eyes in that terrible monster. I wonder if the Rue mutt has enough control to go for Cato first.
Yeah Cato is definately not all there.
She should have just gone straight for Cato, if she had shot him the mutts would have been ordered off and the games would've been over. By going for the mutts, she is giving Cato the chance to recover.
The Cornecopia wasn't made correctly either. It is supposed to be gold and riged not silver and geometric. They made a lot of little mistakes and dropped the ball on quite a few important details in the movie, and they didn't have to.
She is going to pay for that. Peeta will be fine but it was Katnisses idea, and she will pay somehow.
She is going to have nightmares about this day for a long time. And she won't trust anyone for a long time.
She will never live it down if Peeta dies. She really loves him, and she can't loose him.
Haymitch is going to become one of her best friends. He is the only one who can sympothise with her.
How is her relationship with Gale going to change. What about her mother, will she finally forgive her.
Her prep team has been to work on her while she slept. She definately cares about Peeta. And she couldn't be more relieved to see Haymitch and Effie and Peeta. Haymitch has become one of Katniss's favorite people because he knows what this feels like.
Dad is back. Cinna will be her confidant for years to come.
Its Beauty and the beast in the movie during the winners interview. She didn't look like the girl on fire in the movie.
She hasn't just broken his heart, she has broken hers as well. Will they becordial enough with eachother when they get home?

Let The Games Begin!
I hate elevators! I would never ask to ride one again. Effie is so unbelievably ignorant of the whole thing. Maybe that is why she was given the 12th district.
How could Cinna possibly do better than the first costume?
Why does Peeta decide to break away at the interview portion. I mean I know why he does it, but why
doesn't he just decide to work seperatley?
I like that i can still imagine Cinna the way I see him, and not the way the movie makes hime look.
Ceasar seems like the only person who understands what the tributes are going through, which is what
makes him so helpful in the interviews.
Cinna is truely the only one who cares about Katniss the person more than Katniss the tribute. He is her
only life line, he feels for her, like a father.
That promise to Prim is what's going to keep her going.
The smelling of eachother is a nice touch.
I think Ceasar knew that Peeta was in love with Katniss when he says that winning won't help him.
I know what Katniss means about getting no sleep when it counts.
"I keep wishing I could think of a way to show the Capital they don't own me. That I'm more than just some
peice in their games." -Peeta
Peeta has blue eyes just like the Beast/Prince when he looks at
Katniss on the roof.
Katniss dwells on the past just a little to much sometimes.
It's a good thing that Cinna is the only one allowed to accompany
Katniss into the prep room. He keeps her collected.
In five days Cinna has become like a father to Katniss, even
thoughshe may not realize it.
Here's the thing, if I were a career tribute, I would've tried to get
Katniss on my team not Peeta.
Peeta is leading them on a wild goose chase?
I wonder if the other tributes have put together the gifts and the arena: no gift of water means you're close,
things like that.
It is as if the Game makers knew that Katniss thrived in the woods.
Where did the fire come from?
Why do they pick Katniss, because of what she did in the private training session?
The gamemakers won't kill her, because the tributes fighting with eachother is what people want to see in the
Capital.
How can Peeta do that? Won't he loose the hope of getting sponcers if he sides with the careers and breaks
the whole star-crossed lovers thing? Or is their more that Haymitch told him to do in private before the
interviews?
Katniss has made more mental notes about the games in general than she realizes, and they are saving her
and making her think rationally.
Finally she has a bow and arrows.
Why does Peeta come back and tell her to run? Is he staying behind to fight the careers and give her her
best chances?
I'm really enjoying the book and as you can see making lots of notes. It feels like a whole new story to me, even though I know what is going to happen, I find myself reading as if I don't. I can't wait to pick up the next book.

The 74th Annual Hunger Games Coverage Part 1
Katniss Everdene has a very emotionless view of the world. It seems that everything that has happened to her has forced her grow up to quickley.
I think that Prim is the only person in the district that makes Katniss feel. I mean Gale definately can get her to smile and laugh and live. But Prim is the one that Katniss loves. The duck-tail that Katniss sees as her sister goes toward the podium on reaping day is that small little detail that seems to be the emotional charge for Katniss.
Haymitch...hmmmm. All I can say about him is...I like him! I think he knows what he is doing every second. I also think that Katniss despises him, and I don't think they will ever see eye to eye. But, as much as I like him, i want to know why he drinks so much.
Let's see the Capital people are strange. I haven't quite figured them out yet. All I know is that Snow was totally wrong in the movie, he looked nothing like his description. Cinna, though, I like, because he feels real. It sounds like he rebels from the way of life expected by society in the Capital. I'm very curious to find out why he wanted the 12th District. Was he offered another District before the 12th?
In terms of the games, I think Peeta has a major disadvantage, because he is playing inocense. But, i think he remembers the bread incodent as well as Katniss does. And Katniss has an advantage, because of the story behind her becoming a tribute. Her District gave her a sign of respect, and a sign of defiance to the Capital and their games.
